Sigtec’s ZoneAlert system is able to draw driver’s attention to the reduced speed limit by flashing high intensity LED lights on existing Regulatory Speed signs. The resultant reduction of traffic speed improves safety in the school zone as witnessed at hundreds of school sites installed in Australia. The ZoneAlert system can also be utilized successfully in entertainment or shopping zones to enhance pedestrian safety.
Fully independent and configurable calendars within the sign are used to activate the alert device during the school zone traffic period. Digital wireless communications are used to advise a central reporting system when the signs come on and off and to monitor the status of the system. This high end central control system allows management of thousands of signs nation wide supporting unlimited calendars, variable flashing rates and with a varied range of alert devices.
